"Soul" is immortal. Based on the Theory of "Reincarnation" i.e. one has to take birth many a times in one shape or the other i.e. in any "Yoni", as per karmas of his/her past births. As is written in "Bhagwat Geetha", Lord Krishna in his "Geethaopdesha" says:

KARMANYEVAADHIKARASTE MAA PHALESHU KADACHIN
MAA KARMPHALAHETURBHUUR MAA TE SANGO STAVAKARMANI !

MEANING:
You have a right in respect of action (work) alone, Never in respect of its fruits !
Let not the fruit of action be your motive,
and
Let there be no attachment to inaction either !

God has not disclosed the secrets of happy life, but spoken of about man`s responsibilities and obligations straightaway to the tormented soul ( Arjuna ) . He explains the validity of the three vistas of duty, devotion and knowledge.
